We are dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal (bone, muscle, nerve, disc, tendon, ligament) problems and sporting/ traumatic injuries.

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a profession dedicated to restoring and maintaining optimal function of the joints, bones, muscles and nerves of the body. It’s a hands on therapy that involves observing, testing and feeling how your body moves to determine what is causing your injury/pain.

It uses a variety of techniques such as:

  • Joint Manipulation

  • Taping
  • Joint Mobilisation
  • Stretching
  • Taping
  • Clinical Pilates

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy, similar to physiotherapy, is a system of complementary medicine involving the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal complaints via a range of hands on manipulative therapies.

In many senses it is very similar to Physiotherapy, however the philosophy of Osteopathy sets it apart from other medical disciplines. The key principles of Osteopathic practise are based on all parts of the body functioning together in an integrated manner. If one part of the body is not functioning properly, then the rest of the body must adapt and compensate for this, eventually leading to common problems such as joint stiffness, muscular tension, inflammation, pain and other health conditions. Osteopathy aims to free the body of restrictions. When your body moves freely and forces are balanced, it is given an opportunity to heal itself therefore decreasing the likelihood of pain.

Osteopaths use a similar range of techniques to Physiotherapists including soft tissue stretching, deep tactile pressure, and mobilisation or manipulation of joints.

Osteopathy is a five-year university course, which includes a degree and masters qualification. Osteopaths are highly regulated by the general Osteopathic Council and work closely with GPs and other allied health professionals.

Becky is a physiotherapist and an osteopath, but she’s a non-practicing osteopath so services currently fall under the category of physiotherapy.

What to expect from your first appointment

Becky will…

  • Talk to you about your problem and discuss your medical history (please bring any relevant letters, scans, x-ray reports and a list of current medication).
  • Assess your problem by watching you move and using diagnostic tests. This is a hands on therapy so the area in question and adjacent areas will also be assessed.
  • Give you a working diagnosis – i.e. what they think the problem is. Sometimes this is not completely clear initially but becomes more apparent through the treatment process.
  • Will give you a short treatment or some exercises dependant on the time left after assessment.
  • Discuss the best course of treatment for you going forward

Your initial appointment should last 40 minutes. If you have more than one area that needs assessing please request a longer 55 minute initial assessment.

After your initial assessment…

My goal for all clients is to give you the tools to manage your problem yourself. We want to fix the problem in as few appointments as possible. From experience I have found the best method of doing this is via an intensive, more focussed approach that includes both hands on treatment and a specific 6 stage exercise programme, our Fix It Fast Framework. The more spread out your appointments, the slower your results tend to be.

If you need hands on treatment, you will be invited back into clinic on Saturdays at a frequency dictated by your symptoms. As your symptoms reduce, so will how regularly you will need treatment. The rest of your care will take place via 1:1 exercise sessions, either online via Zoom or face to face in a gym.

My ultimate focus is to improve the way you move… so you don’t keep returning to us with the same problem. This is where our Fix It Fast Framework comes in.

I no longer encourage booking adhoc appointments (other than your initial assessment) as we find clients lose their way, fall off the radar and don’t complete their rehab journey. By spreading out appointments too far apart, momentum is lost, it takes longer to get results and ends in you needing more appointments than if you had worked more intensively.

12 Week Fix It Fast Coaching Programme

A bespoke programme containing a mixture of Physiotherapy, Personal training and coaching delivered both face to face and online. The format/ method of delivery will totally depend on your needs, your schedule, your physical ability & your preferences.

No two clients are taken through the exact same programme as it is tailored specifically to your needs.

The programme includes:

12 weeks online 1:1 coaching
Unlimited hands-on treatment in clinic
Weekly progress check ins, advice and motivational coaching
24/7 access to a Physiotherapist 5 days a week via WhatsApp
Essential equipment pack
One year Zoom Pilates class membership (usually £58.50 per month/£702 a year)
3 months gym membership at a local luxury gym of your choice
Access to online Pilates & Exercise On Demand pre-recorded library

Fixing Your Foundations Packages

If you don’t feel able/ ready to commit to our coaching programme, you could opt for this package. Long term this is less cost effective and includes no additional bonuses as above.

6 Week Foundations package

This package walks you through the first phase of the Fix It Fast Framework with 6 online Zoom exercise sessions (at a time convenient to you) and as many hands on sessions as are needed in this 6 week period.

This is only the first phase of the framework, but it is enough to significantly reduce most people’s symptoms. At the end of the 6 weeks, we will review how you are feeling and make a decision on how to move forward from there.

3 Week Get Started package

This package gets you started with 3 online Zoom exercise sessions and up to 3 hands on treatments over a 3-week period. We will implement the first 3 stages of the “Fix It Fast Framework” – Inhibit, Articulate & Activate.

This is just the start of your journey but will give you some effective strategies to keep your aches & pains at bay. At the end of the 3 weeks, we will encourage you to book a second 3-week package so you can complete the last 3 stages of the framework if appropriate.

DIY – Do It Yourself

You go away armed with all the information you learnt from the appointment and carry on as you are/ take your own path to solving your injury. You will have access to your online portal and our findings which you can use that to find your own path. You can also attend our Zoom Pilates for a 4 week period.
