Online Physiotherapy Assessments & Treatment

In today’s current climate it may not be possible to go into a clinic or your GP surgery to get your niggles and areas of discomfort assessed, diagnosed or treated. This may be because you are limited by childcare or working from home, there isn’t a clinic open near you, your GP is not offering face to face consultations or you may be shielding or not feel safe to attend a clinic in person.

There is so much we can do to help you in an online capacity to address and solve your areas of discomfort.

This may include, but is not limited to:

♥ Assessing your problem in full in the comfort of your own home
♥ Providing you with a diagnosis
♥ Providing you with a comprehensive management plan
♥ Ruling out serious health conditions that need onward referral
♥ Educating you on the problem – what it is, why it started & how we can help
♥ Teaching you how to self-manage at home via advice, release techniques & exercises
♥ Assessment of your workstation
♥ Assessment your posture and biomechanics (the way you move)
♥ Footwear advice
♥ Referring on for further investigations – eg Ultrasound, MRI or CT
♥ Referring you to a specialist consultant
♥ Writing to your GP on your behalf requesting further investigation via the NHS

Our New Online Teleconsultation Service

We are changing the format of our Initial Consultations to provide an optimum service whilst we move to triage and treat via video calling online.

Your appointment will now be longer and split in two, with the second half of the appointment being roughly a week later than the first contact. These new split appointments enable us to cover more content and ensure thoroughness.

Please note, the duration and therefore cost is different for new patients compared with our existing clients, as new patient will require a longer appointment time.

How to Book

All booking is now online via the link below. For now we are only offering Thursday morning slots but will expand this as demand requires.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know no less than 24 hours before your appointment and we will reschedule for you or refund you in full. You can also do this via the link on your confirmation email. Any appointments not attended (unanswered teleconsultation calls) or cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged in full.

Pre-Appointment Screening

Before your appointment, you will be sent a digital form via your confirmation email for you to fill in. To get the full benefit of your appointment, please make this information as thorough as possible. The more information you give us, the more effective your initial consultation will be as we will have lots of useful information ahead of time and can plan your video consultation accordingly. We must receive this no less than 2 working days before your appointment so the answers can be analysed before your call.

Pre-Appointment Postural Photographs

As well as completing the Pre-Appointment screening we need 4 x pictures of your standing posture in advance of your appointment. A picture of you from the front, back and both sides in minimal but appropriate clothing.

Men – please wear boxer shorts, shorts or swimming trunks – if a long short please roll up the leg as much as possible

Women – please wear a crop top, sports bra or not see-through bra and either “big knickers” or “short” shorts (again longer shorts can be rolled up).

From the back view, the top of your pelvic bones must be visible rather than covered in clothing so you may need to roll your waist band down slightly.

These images are deleted as soon as they are analysed, and notes taken. If it makes you feel more comfortable you can disguise your face digitally, but we still need to see your head & neck position. If you would rather not send & take these images, please let us know.

What happens if my Wifi goes down?

This appointment will be done through our video telehealth appointments. You will receive a link to your appointment in your booking confirmation email.

If there is a problem with the connection then we will call you on your mobile number via WhatsApp or Facetime. If you can not access either of these, via your landline. If your mobile number has changed, please do let us know so we can call you if needed.

Camera Angles

Whether you are communicating via your phone, tablet or laptop, it is essential you practice getting the right camera angle before your call, in order not to waste your appointment time.

Before the call starts work out where you can place your device in a free-standing position where you can be seen:

  1. Standing – from head to toe as close as possible to the camera
  2. Sitting on a highbacked chair – eg dining room chair – from head to toe
  3. Lying – often the device will need to be on the floor for this – again we will need to see you from head to toe

These three camera angles/ positions need to be practiced before the call.

In addition, consider that you need the day light behind you so you are not in a shadow and we can see you properly. You may need to close curtains or switch on lights to improve the lighting and optimise what we can see.

Appropriate Dress

Please be aware that we will need to fully view the problem area, this will mean undressing. Please wear tight fitting clothes such as vest tops/ shorts so that we can see as much as possible without needing to ask you to undress further. Please ensure you are wearing comfortable and appropriate underwear. Our video calls are fully secure and are NOT recorded.
